Logitech BCC950 Conference Cam – Bad Speakers, Blown Speakers, Defective Speakers

Since the internet has become overrun by a gaggle of free speech hating corporations, I thought I would take a brief moment to display my discontent for what I feel are some sort of manufacturing defects of the Logitech BCC950 conference cam.

Don’t get me wrong, for the price, this thing kicks major ass in comparison to many of the alternatives out there. The video is amazing quality for 1080@30fps with PTZ and honestly I do love the camera for all it’s strong points.

Butt, and I say that with an improperly formed sentence and a huge ASS in mind, I just wanted to make the general public aware to the fact that in the last two years, the company I work for has purchased thirty-one of these units and four out of those have had prematurely failing speakers that just start crackling out of nowhere.

Every single one of these units were on UPC battery backup based surge protectors, as well as the computers themselves, and they were never turned up to anywhere close to their maximum volume limits. I am extremely pissed off about this. That is a 12.9% failure rate just on the units I’ve bought alone, so I can’t imagine how many other people have had this problem. Please make sure to read the comments for an updated amount of defective speakers I’ve come across.

So, if Logitech tries to give you any shit about the product being “out of warranty”, call them out on their crappy defective speakers, and remember, until “they” gain full control of the internet here shortly, you may be one person, but your voice can still be heard worldwide (well, except in China).

  1. Ugh, I’ve got five more blown speakers here, and on top of it, they’ve changed their support website and completely wiped out all existing history of my open tickets and now there is no more record of them. Going to have to raise a massive bitch fit, because these issues will be ongoing for the life of the product and the replacement products they have shipped me.

  2. I’ve had ongoing issues for months with these defective speakers and have had to open many tickets with Logitech and demand to have the units replaced. I’ve had eight of these units replaced now.
